Sponge Flange Savers
Sponge flange savers are installed between the made-up faces of API Ring Joint flanges to protect the faces of the flanges from corrosion. Sponge flange savers are made with a complete set of bolt holes to facilitate ease of installation and proper fit.
The standard construction material is 1/4" thick closed cell sponge. Thicker sponge is available for an additional cost.
Sponge flange savers are an inexpensive way to protect the faces of made-up flanges. The sponge flange saver eliminates the need to periodically reapply tape around flanged connections in order to exclude dirt, water, debris, etc.
